Self-Care Checklist

Updated: Nov 20

Self-care can sound simple, but in reality, it often slips to the bottom of the list — especially when life feels busy or overwhelming. Taking small, intentional steps each day can make a real difference to your wellbeing. Here’s a gentle checklist to inspire you:

1. Routine

As simple as it sounds, a steady routine can help you feel more grounded. Try getting up 15 minutes earlier than the rest of your household to give yourself a calm start to the day, or going to bed a little earlier to help you settle into sleep.

2. Treat Yourself

You deserve moments of kindness and joy. Whether it’s a bath, a coffee out, a walk somewhere you love, or even your favourite ice cream — allow yourself those little treats, weekly or monthly.

3. Escape Reality

Sometimes switching off is exactly what we need. Watch a feel-good film, listen to a podcast, binge a Netflix series, or lose yourself in a good book — give your mind permission to rest.

4. Fresh Air

A change of scenery can work wonders. Step outside, even briefly. A walk to the shops, time at the park, the beach, or countryside — wherever you can manage — can help reset your mind and body.

5. Move Your Body

Movement releases endorphins, our natural mood-boosters. It doesn’t have to be a big workout — gentle stretches, a walk around the block, or dancing in your kitchen all count.

6. Let’s Dance

Speaking of dancing — put on your favourite music and move as freely as you like. Sing along, dance around the room, and notice how your mood shifts.

7. Stay Connected

Human connection is vital for our well-being. Reach out to someone you care about — a quick message, a voice note, a phone call, or a chat in person. Even small interactions can make a big difference.

🌿 Remember: self-care doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s about tuning in to what you need and permitting yourself to take that time. Small, consistent steps can help you feel calmer, more balanced, and more able to cope with whatever life brings.
